Battle System for my game.

Hey , everybody!

So, i've been working on my new game (I duno what it's gonna be called) for a while now and i've finished 50% of the battle system. It looked cool and the forum seemed a bit sleepy so i decided to hype things up a bit and show you guys.

So, tinker around, and if you see any bugs, please tell me. Thanks.

Oh yeah, just some few notes:

-Punch damages 1 - 10 and uses no mp.
-Kick uses 10mp and damages 10 - 20.
-Heal uses 5mp and heals 20 health.
-BIG thanks to HankJFox for getting my scrolling buttons working!

I like the animations, but I don't see what's so special about the engine.... I mean, like, I made an engine just like this except with tons more options and I didn't get a single reply!

Uhh, yeah. About my game.

It's pretty much about this guy. And hamburgers. And that's all I have.
Seriously, it's not even 5% done. tongue

So... progress is not going quick.

-Most of the engines done
-Need to work on story
-Need to work on music
-Need to work on enemy designs
-Need to work on character designs

I built a whole 3D adventure engine and never got any input at all, apart from friends.. its one of those things.. if people think it sucks they will go out of their way to tell you, if they can't figure it out.. they will still tell you it sucks, so no reply isn't always a bad thing but a Its a lot better if they do, even if they don't like it but give a reason why

@shinsukeito looking good.. wouldn't the swf be better in a html doc and just add a link for the swf? for me it was kinda huge and the score text was going a bit funky lol

For some reason in Firefox, the online version has gone all weird.. I'll look into it
It was done in Awakening 3D, its a really cool bit of software because you can use all your flash skills (apart from AS) to create games, timeline animation etc, use timeline to call events
The game is open source so feel free to have a look, cursor, text, inventory is what me and the Awakening guy got working, the character is still early stages but soon he should have path finding not in that game but I know have multi language support via a single script smile .. the beta version of Awakening is fully functional and free to use wink

It works nicely! I was thinking that maybe you could visualize HP and MP with pixel-sliders or object (like hearts in zelda) - it would fit your games style very well. That way you would not get mixed fonts and your game would maintain consistent laidback retro style!

Does you platforming engine provide obstacles like pipes and bricks in mario? More art, more maps and more enemies and this will be adventure to remember!

Of course I expect the battle system to be enhanced, I'm just here to appreciate the visuals. Very nice, fluid animations, and I love your little character! Again, one of the three projects that I'm really liking so far.
