People have tried to tell you and me that the PSP Flash player has limits. I'll tell you one thing. Your imagination doesn't have to, and that is why I present to you the hugest flash game of the PSP's life time.

No other flash game can give you Monster killing, sword slashing, mini game action, space battles, forest mazes, and mini movies like Moovlin RPG can.

Nor has any flash game had such ability to let you download game wallpapers, music, or theme functionality inside it.

Let's get real, play Moovlin RPG and learn all that.

PS: It'd be great if one of the admins or caretakers of the site could add this, finally a finished flash game that it really fun.

heh i really like this game, really original for a flash game.

I think you should build in puzzle like ckallenges in the next episode. That would be fun.

anyway send tallphil  a pm and ask him to put it on the page.

btw there is a bug at second blue hint box. If i touch it after i killed the three enemies, they reappear.

please no offense Zuriki, even though i prefer your boulder dash than his falling rocks, his rock falling is faster, and therefor much harder to avoid  if it were continous.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm already working on episode two. Kitrako sends more Troops after Moovlin, new mini game ideas:

-Lava Run

-Run out of a volcano, but quickly before the lava rises! X to jump over hot coals, Right key to cut through stalagmites.
-The screen scrolls for you.


This also will be probably one of the hugest games made in LiveSwif as well!

Offense? I was merely stating my opinion. I found it boring and a rather poorly constructed game. That was not meant to be offensive to jfig, i am sure he worked hard on it. But maybe if had spent alittle time working out some of the glitches that made the game somewhat a let down.

Here you are. Some suggestions that would greatly improve the quality of the game:
- Health: Because one hit kill really sucks
- Make it not possible to run of the screen and fall to oblivion
- Make it side scrolling not map warping
- Improve the graphics: Trust me presentation improves the feel and masks little problems that game might have.
- Learn how to do irregular shape hit testing.

Those will surly improve your game a great deal. These should come priority to adding new features to the game.

jfig, don't bother with side scrolling stuff, it doesn't work on the PSP because of it's limitations.

Can I say this as a very good effort, especially so for someone who's new to this. Keep up the good work!
I think there needs to be more in this before it can be released as a game. It can be completed within a few minutes but it's definitely a good start. Maybe add some background graphics and make the animations a litle nicer?
Definitely add more content but it looks good so far!

do think you could make a moovlin portal after your done with the episodes?that way you could have all the games organized and you could include a button that takes you back and easily helps select another episode.it could be for the people who dont have an offline launcher or who are fans of your game.

Here's the big story:

I can't afford flash and I am using a free flash program, called LiveSwif. It has lots and lots of limitations too it. I could make a health bar, but it would be hard.

I also haven't learned much AS either, so give me some slack.

I will see what I can do to add things, but for now I am pretty much limited to everything unless you give me some codes.

BTW: Zuriki, could you tell me the hittest code for irregular shapes?

Or you can animate a health bar going down and whenever your guy gets hit put inside the enemy:

You may have to change the instances in the above code but it works. Just animate a health bar going down and change it to a movieclip. call it health and then put the above code inside the enemies (or you could swap around the instances so it went inside the main character).

He'll have to translate that for LiveSwif.

If he wanted more than just 1 damage per hit. He could do.

and on moovlin have the code

That way theres no multiple frames and he can change the damage taken.
He could even make the enemies give random damages.

_root.health._width = _width - random(10);//Based on a guess that the health bar ould be 100 pixels long.
_root.moovlin._x - this._width + 5;//Moves him away from enemy just enough.

That would give a random damage between 0 and 10.


I didn't test this but it should work.

Cool! thanks for helping.

You can always download the open source file and try to edit it to work.

The big problem is that each place he goes to is a new frame, so I have to copy and paste everything into the new frame. When you touch the arrow, it goes and plays the next frame with the next place.

No worries, that's how I code!! (mostly). If you've copied and pasted a movie clip then it'll look and be exactly the same when the flash movie is running. Alternatively, you could put things in layers so there's only one frame for things where there's many for others.
