Yeah, my Lumines should come tomorrow but I'm not gonna downgrade right away. I'm in the same point as you are (if you are gonna downgrade 3.50) I'm very scared, but I'm just thinking that my PSP is like everyone else's, right. It's not so different of the rest of 3.50 TA-082 PSPs. MANY people have already downgraded those, so what could go wrong?

Besides, I've been looking for some info if someone has bricked a PSP using Noobz downgraders -- and I've found 0 cases this far (for exception here I must mention the 2.5 - 2.6 downgrader concept, which was a total spoof)

Tell me if you are about to downgrade, let's do it together! LOL! If  you have MSN Messenger/AIM add me up jaxerir@hotmail.com or at AIM: JaXeRiR

- DOOM
- Quake II
- MAC address changer
- Call of Duty 2
- Infrared sender/receiver
- DevHook

That really exists? How cool. Only problem is that if you take the mem stick off and put it in a reader, this solution won't work.

But the owner won't really do anything with the IP. Unless he has some kind of secret government IP address locator as you DueLord xD (that is a joke most of you will probably not understand)

Re: usefull homebrews

Oh and yeah the COOLEST app EVERYONE should have --

- File Assistant++

It let's you browse memory stick, flash0, flash1 and UMD and copy files from one to another, create new folders, read txt and html files, play mp3, ogg and mod (even while browsing the memory!) show png, gif, bmp and jpg files... The featires are almost endless! I haven't tried showing flash0, flash1 or UMD yet since once the app bugged when I was playing a mod file and tried to open a mp3 file and it deleted them both. SO if that happens with flash0 or flash1...

But it's so cool!

Re: usefull homebrews

There are many ROM sites - Just google for the game for example "Super Mario 64 ROM" and you should find multiple results.

But actually, you SHOULD own the game, like I own SM64 on my Nintendo 64.

Originals... Hmm... I've got about 7... And ones that I've had but I have no more, about 5-6... And then the rest (about 30) I have never owned.

Re: usefull homebrews

Well, after you have installed iR Shell, you will never hav to use XMB (PSP's menu) again. You can launch all your homebrew, UMDs, ISOs, everything from iR Shell. You can play music, browse all files on your mem stick, browse the UMD, copy files from there, play games from your PC through USB and WiFi... And much much more.

You should really check it out.

pspfan@iRShell.org wrote:

Here's why you should use iR Shell and what's so great about it:

iR Shell can:

    * Do basic shell functions:
      --Launch homebrew
      --Launch UMD
      --Enter usb mode
      --Exit back to shell from homebrew/umd
      --Be a file browser
      --Give date/time/battery info display
    * Be an IR remote for over 2000 devices (and I think it's over 6000 devices if you download more than just the remote on the website)
    * Take screenshots of homebrew, UMD, XMB, pretty much everything
    * View images (.bmp, .jpg, .png)
    * Be an MP3 player that can run in the background of your UMDs and homebrew, has basic functions like pause/play, stop, next, previous, volume +/-, can make playlists
    * Change CPU speed (even for launched games/homebrews)
    * Switch between launched homebrew or UMD and iR Shell (to change your MP3 playlist or view a photo, or check battery status, or send a file to another PSP or something like that--all of that and more can be done in the background while another app is running)
    * Transfer files to another PSP via Ad Hoc connection
    * Be Skinnable
    * Run file manipulation functions (copy, paste, delete, rename) even between the memory stick and usbhost or nethost.
    * Open a Configurator which lets you customize things like default CPU speed, date/time display, skin and put a password on file manipulating or entering the configurator
    * Lock the PSP so that a password is needed to continue
    * Use PSP headphone remote control for MP3 player functions
    * Have support for user plugins (EBOOTS and PRX to run a specific filetype).
    * Have support for UMD browsing
    * Have support for USB host file system browsing (remotely browse and run files on your PC via USB including music, images, homebrew, isos, psx games, and supported files from plugins)
    * Have support for Infrastructure WiFi host (net host) file system browsing (remotely browse and run files on your PC via Infrastructure WiFi including music, images, homebrew, isos, psx games, and supported files from plugins)
    * Redirect usbhost or nethost to the memory stick (allows proper homebrew streaming from the PC as well as MP4 streaming)
    * Launch the XMB from iR Shell and exit back to it (can do most XMB functions from here except play UMDs and launch homebrew, this is how you stream MP4 movies from your PC when connected and redirected)
    * Do alarm clock functions
    * Give a low battery warning
    * Have built in ISO, CSO and UMD Video ISO loader for launching legally backed up UMDs (can also be streamed from nethost or usbhost)
    * Launch PSX games (and they can also be streamed from nethost or usbhost)
    * Run the existing plugins (it can open these files): PMP, PMP AVC, AT3, PMF, ZIP, RAR, TXT, PDF, 7Z, OGG, HTM, HTML, LUA, CBR, CBZ and some more. (And don't forget it also has built in viewers/players for MP3, BMP, JPG, and PNG as mentioned before.)
    * Use an Ad Hoc internet connection for homebrew or for nethost (it's the only homebrew that can do that)
    * Quick exit from any homebrew, UMD, XMB, etc by pressing the Home and Square buttons simultaneously.
    * Mute parts (channels) or all of the game audio
    * Organize homebrew into subfolders

Convinced? Of course you are! Download it now!

Re: usefull homebrews

DevHook (DeviceHook) is a homebrew created by a famous PSP homebrew developer Booster, who also created the CSO compression method along with Dark_Alex. DevHook allows users to emulate all kinds of firmwares up to 3.11 from their memory cards, so basically you could have 1.50, 2.00, 2.70, 3.03 and 3.11 on your PSP at the same time, for example. On 1.50 firmware it is mostly used to play UMD games that require higher firmwares, but it also includes the ability to play dumped UMD image-files in the ISO format. In order to use a firmware from the memory card, the user must first dump the firmware by putting the EBOOT.PBP (DATA.PSP on older versions) file of the corresponding upgrade to the root of the memory stick, and running PSAR Dumper created by PSPpet, or the new version by M33. After the release of custom firmwares, not so many people use DevHook anymore, as it can only emulate firmwares up to 3.11, and there are all the features implemented on custom firmwares, as well. Booster, the creator of the homebrew ran into legal troubles with Sony in 2006, and so he stopped releasing new versions of DevHook, although all the older ones can still be found on the internet. The newest version of DevHook is quite old, version 0.52 which supports emulation up to 3.11 firmware.

And to Duelord: Yep, iR Shell is really cool. You can run the newest iR Shell v3.81 on a Slim with 3.71 M33-3 firmware. There are two versions of the application, and you can change between them without exiting to XMB so you can run 1.5 homebrew on the other (not Slims) , and ISOs, UMD games and 3.XX homebrew on the other.

It includes a PRX file called irsautoboot.prx which when enabled will autoboot the PSP to iR Shell without the user having to go through the menus. And be sure to apply the patch as described on instructions for the best UMD and ISO/CSO compatibility.
