[Tutorial] Converting PDF files to JPG files to view on the psp

Tutorial created by: rollinroll

Ever wanted to read your ebooks on your psp with official firmwire without using homebrew to read the PDF files? Well, here i'll show you how to convert a PDF document to a JPG file.

First you want to download a program named "VeryPDF PDF Editor"
You can download the program here (Program to download torrent files needed).

Okay, once you have downloaded the program, run the setup and install. Then, run the patch.exe included in the download and click "Patch". It should come up a error saying "Can not find the file. Search the file?" click ok. Then select "Program Files/VeryPDF PDF Editor/" and choose pdfeditor.exe. It should now patch the file.

Okay, you have installed the program and are ready to convert!
Now, start up PDF Editor. Choose "File", "Open" and choose your PDF file. It should now load up your PDF document. Then, choose "File", "Save As" and in the box where you can choose what file type to save to, choose "JPG File". Choose where you want to save it, and click "Save". It may take some time if your PDF file is very big.
And your done! Now, enjoy!

Hope you found this helpful.

I use Adobe Reader which has a convert to .txt function...

Then I use a programme called PSP eBook Creator to change it to .jpg

It lets you set a background image and everything which I think is pretty cool smile

Slightly less on topic: Where do you get good e-books? The ones I get are always scanned with really crappy OCR so they're full of errors :s

In the new firmwares, 3.70 and 3.71, you can listen to music while viewing pics.

There are programmes that can convert .txt or .pdf files to seperate .jpg files... It doesn't work with hyperlinks or scrolling or anything; the pages are reformatted to the PSP resolution (480x272) so the image is like a page of the book. When you're done reading one page you just flip to the next .jpg with the R shoulder button like you would flip through other images.

And if you can't read the text, just zoom in very much and then you can scroll the image with the analog.

Off-Topic:
I see a big ad under the quick post field and it is just saying "Click Here"... Odd...

Re: [Tutorial] Converting PDF files to JPG files to view on the psp

At my PC the ad says "100 ilmaista soittoääntä!" which is like "100 free ringtones!" and "Klikkaa tästä" = "Click here".
