Re: Screen of death
duelord, I am interested to know weather the new PSP slim has improved flash. The internal memory has been increased from 32MB to 64MB so does this mean you no longer get out of memory errors? when the silver PSP slim comes out I think I may get one if this is the case.

Re: Screen of death
I am quite certain that it doesn't run out of memory as fast as normal PSP, but don't count on that until we get further information. But the normal PSP has it's memory inside the web browser limited in 4MB, which is weird if the maximum is 32MB.
But on the other hand, normal PSP and PSP Slim run on the same firmware upgrades, but Slim just has more features. Maybe one of the features the normal PSP lacks is indeed increased memory inside the browser.

Re: Screen of death
well, i woudnt say that the psp slim is much of an improvement. but maybe im wrong. well since yesterday i had two out of memory messages. If you already have the old psp version, then it isnt worth changing over to psp slim. unless you want to play psp on the tv, or the old psp was too heavy for you.
if i had a choice i would have my old psp back.
i even thought about taking the psp slim lcd out and putting it in my old psp. i think il try and go 3.6O M33 slim first.

Re: Screen of death
You mean that the normal PSP's battery doesn't work or Pandora's Battery doesn't work? Since they both do now. People just thought that Pandora's Battery wasn't working when the real reason nothing showed up on the screen was that 1.5 kernel doesn't support the Slim screen drivers.

Re: Screen of death
Actually Team M33 made a way to bypass this, you just have to put the magic mem stick and the pandora to your PSP, and after that turn it on. You cannot see anything, but the readme says like "Press X now to install 3.60 M33" or "Press O now to shutdown your PSP" so actually Slim is also homebrew-enabled.
Yeeyyyy I just got 100,000 points at the QJ Forums from a nice guy named DarKSeveN!

Re: Screen of death
Hmm, I haven't heard of anyone getting BSoD... But of course someone must have gotten it. And besides it is quickly fixed by pressing O, and after that it fixes the corrupted settings.

Re: Screen of death
It happens sometimes if something corrupts/deletes files from your flash1. It might also happen if you have set a new wallpaper and it is saving it while you shut your PSP down.
This is how a BSoD looks like:
It's nothing to be worried about. Well maybe if it happens every time you restart like with some people. BUT you might also get a RSoD (Red Screen of Death) like this one:
The RSoD happens when something is very wrong inside flash0 (some files corrupted badly) and it usually happens when modding the PSP's flash0 and messing with files so they get corrupted, but there are cases when it just suddenly pops up for example when starting a game.
Hey rollinroll... I've heard that some people have had problems when trying to start Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters when using custom firmware since the game has to be launced in 333Mhz/266Mhz mode, and custom firmware overrides normal PSP CPU settings... Did it work with you when you were in custom firmware (if you already had it back then)

Re: Screen of death
Happens sometimes... One of my friends got it while playing Lumines. But she just quit the game normally and it was all in japanese and when she got back to the menu she had BSoD.
