Re: To Do List
Updated to do list (in order of priority):
> Write in javascript smiley buttons to automatically insert them
> Finish writing the reviews section
> Rewrite the psp site page header, with more user-friendly navigation
> Finish the beta PSP os editing pages and make ready for release
> Fix occasional sql errors that pop up at the top of the page
> Fix errors related to the polls on various pages
> Improve poll system, with graphs to show results and make them easier to use.
> Integrate high scores with user profiles
> Create 'league tables' to see who is doing best overall at all of the games on the site
> Integrate the forum search into the main site, with an option for where to search
> Edit the user avatar code, so that instead of just disallowing any avatars that are over 60x60 pixels, it just resizes them (with a client-side java applet to save our bandwidth)
> Add high-score functionality to other games
> Re-write the homepage so that it runs as a proper blog, with archives

Re: To Do List
It is going to be a flash application which makes it much easier to load games and link sites etc. It is hard work and will be fully customizable on this site when we get around to doing it. Here are some screens.
It will be good when I have finished but at the moment it is limited to menu size, I need to change this so that the menus can be infinite.

Re: To Do List
It is sweet. What Jake didn't mention is that you will be able to customize it fully through this 'ere website, with no technical knowledge needed. When you're done, you click the right button and the website writes the code for you, and gives you a nice tidy zip file to download. It will even include the games you want, and the correct file structure, so you'll only need to unzip it onto your PSP.
Serioustly, we make it so easy for you guys...

Re: To Do List
I think i might have just fixed the problem you saw Scott, with the sql error appearing at the top of the screen in white... If anyone sees one again, can you view the page source (View > Page Source) and copy and paste the error text at the top of that source (which should read the same as that on the screen) into this forum?
Cheers all

Re: To Do List
The only applications I can think of besides games would be some kind of organizer/calendar, paint, calculator, some kind of basic text editor....
Who knows O_O
P.S. Does anyone know if the PSP browser has some kind of possibility to connect with others via ad-hoc? Imagine playing flash games against others =O

Re: To Do List
Our ideas were just websites and games really, but you can use it to link to whatever you want (essentially like a better version of jake's html homepage).
As there are flash calculators, flash organizers, probably a flash version of paint somewhere, then all of these will work It doesn't have to be flash either, if it'll load in the psp browser, you can link to it. Post your wanted list up on the forum and we'll see if we can contact the owner for inclusion in the site.

Re: To Do List
Review display page is now fixed in firefox and all (i think!) other browsers!
Is there any other aspect of the reviews section that i need to work on? (apart from making the images work properly)

The image uploader on the edit review page doesn't work (for both the box art and screenshots) It does work in a new review though

I'll get it sorted soon
I'm going to re-write the way that it handles the images so that they're database driven, and it automatically creates thumbnails which will be clickable for the full size image. They will also be a different size for the psp version of the review page, which i'm currently in the process of writing...

Re: To Do List
Personaly, I like the layout. I don't know how's it looking on a PSP, but in IE its great...
and another thing - is it possible to not to mark my posts as new? (I mean the ones posted by the users will not be marked as new posts for him)

Re: To Do List
I like how it looks too, but It's hard to use on psp... Either make it possible to go through the entire header by using the psp's arrow keys as some sort of a 4 direction tab key, or make the "home", "games", "downloads" and "forums" only display their submenus when they're clicked. For example clicking "downloads" would show "links" and "wallpapers" and it would stay locked on that untill you click "home", "games" or "forums".
That would work right?

Eah, It's possible - look
Press an arrow key to activate menu, and press it again to list options. Press X to go to the site. I didn't work on the design though, so fon't complain)

Re: To Do List
It's not exactly what I meant... Pretty neat though ^^
Nah what I meant is have the arrow keys work as your computers tab key
If you press tab, you'll cycle through all the links on a page from left to right, row after row (unless specified otherwise) now, tab only works in one direction. But the PSP can cycle through links in four directions with the D-pad. I was thinking of using those to navigate the menu... This is hard to explain

Re: To Do List
I was actually intending to write the psp header in html, as you have to click the flash to activate it on the psp, which annoys me. The PC site header will remain the same for the moment though.
I like your mockup though soulofdarkness, i'll give it some thought!

Re: To Do List
Just found a slightly bigger problem, the scores don't work in any of the games. In heli the buttons are blank, the score doesn't show up and nothing appears in the high score table, the jelly the high score table is blank again, and spacebar doesn't seem to work, in snake high scores are blank again and no score in the game.
This is using the latest version of flash for linux which is 7,0,68,0.
I have to go to a lecture but i can investigate further next week if you want any more info.
