It can cause a semi-brick, which is recoverable by holding R while booting. Before installing a new font or messing with the flash in any way be sure to backup your flash0 and flash1 by going to recovery mode and connecting the PSP to the PC.

No. You just put all in H:/PSP/GAME150/ or H:/PSP/GAME/ if you boot from 1.5 kernel from the recovery menu.

You should make a backup of your memory stick and then format it on the custom firmwire so it will create all the homebrew and iso folders like the ISO folder, GAME150, GAME, GAME340 etc...

Or you can just create the folders yourself...

Well, you can't, the homebrews with only one folder have been made for firmware 1.0 and cannot be used in 1.5 kernel, so you must KXploit it first. Google.

If the app is made for fw 1.00 just place it in the PSP/GAME folder? And place the AFKIM folder in the PSP/GAME340 folder and it'll work.

Hmm I was thinking about this too the other day and I put the "CallOfDuty2PSPEdition" folder in GAME but it didn't work out... Although I have seen some 1.00 eboot with just one folder to boot from there. Odd.

Re: Need help with PSP? Ask here!

I suggest going up to 3.40 OE-A because that's the best, most reliable and has the most of plugins and themes working. I like M33 but the firmwares have many disabilities, bugs and stuff. But until they get on with a good working firmware I'm definitely going up.

yeah. something was up with the 3.40 oe update. it just stopped at "copying dxar files" and turned off my psp. I've tried several times now but it still doesn't work. i'm gonna try 3.03 oe

Re: Need help with PSP? Ask here!

nope, just the installer no working. i reckon my psp is incapable of making the update file properly because 3.03 didn't work either..............BUT i did find a download that included the non-corrupted dxrar so i am now happily on 340 oe big_smile. I gonna go out now but i'm gonna go about setting up brick recovery when i get back.

Isn't it illegal to download a custom firmwire DXAR file from the web?

Re: Need help with PSP? Ask here!

I have no idea and i don't see why it would be because you end up with it anyway. If it's illegal to do that then why isn't it illegal to download the program that makes the file?

Anyhow i'm just wondering what stuff to start downloading. What would you recommend?

It isn't illegal to have provided it yourself and that is why you must use a program to make the DXAR file. The DXAR file contains official files from sony and that is why it is forbidden to upload it to the web. When the program is making the DXAR file it actually takes th 3.40 and 1.50 update and mixes them together in one firmwire. So actually Dark_Alex's custom firmwire's is just a mix of 3.40 and 1.50. So therefore it is just forbidden to upload the DXAR file for the public. And you could start downloading my homebrew pack wich includes the best homebrews and emulators with roms and also includes Doom, quake and games like that with the commercial WAD and PAK files. Download it here.

Re: Need help with PSP? Ask here!

Just use an easy installer which it already has the dxar created, u just use the program once and ur on 3.40 oe-a u dont need to use it, then u use the dxar, it already has is made..

Re: Need help with PSP? Ask here!

About the same, except you must first go to 3.52 M33, then 3.52 M33-4 and after that 3.71 M33, and after that apply the 1.5 patch, and then update to 3.71 M33-2 and after that apply the 1.5 patch v2.

But if have a Slim, then it's a lot easier. I guess you have to go on 3.60 M33, and then update to 3.71 M33 and then 3.71 M33-2.
