Weird thingy in PSP main menu...

Hi all,

I was browseing the PSP menu today, and I have this plugin, that if I press the 'Home' button, I can see my battery percentage and remaining minutes, but that is not the point now. I was just going through the menu and to USB Connection. Then I pressed 'Home' to see battery status. I saw that my PSP exited from USB Connection and was back at the menu. I was like okay that's fine. I entered USB Connection again, and then I noticed that battery status plugin was still showing, so I pressed 'Home' again and it quitted to the menu. I selected USB Connection once more and my PSP showed this: 'An internal error has occured. (80410A0B)' so I pressed O and I could clearly read 'USB Mode' in the screen but no buttons were working and then I restarted. I was just thinking if someone is willing to test this in offical firmware since this is clearly interesting and weird.

First, go to USB Connection.
Then press 'Home' so you get back to PSP menu.
Now enter USB Connection again.
Then press 'Home' again.

Do this as many times as fast as possible to see the results (if any)

If you don't want to test it out, don't. That's just what I did.

*edit* I found out that with some people this happens if you drop it, but that's related to the WiFi, never heard anyone getting this with USB Connection...?

No, it's not a CFW bug. I tried it as fast as i could maybe like 20 times now. And i have custom firmwire. Must be a bug in the plugin. Anyways, do you have 3.52 M33 JaXeRiR?

Re: Weird thingy in PSP main menu...

Nope, like I said I have 3.40 OE-A... Hmm, did you have the USB cable connected to your PC and PC on, which causes the PSP light to blink and initialize when opening USB Connection?

Re: Weird thingy in PSP main menu...

Okay, thanks for trying, hopefully it was just something weird rather than something wrong with my hardware.

*edit* I tried it again, and it happened again sad It just shows the 'An internal error has occurred (80243101)' -screen, and after that I have the USB Mode logo on the middle and USB Connection banner on the top but I can still browse through my menu and go to settings, photo, music, video and game, and the only way to get rid of this is to reboot. I have also found out what causes this, which is a corrupted key in the registry, called 0x43. Apparently I should now run KeyCleaner and get a dump of someone's keys from a downgraded TA-082 PSP. Anyone have that? This really doesn't bother me that much, since usually I'm not gonna go back and forth to USB Connection so much, but still this is very annoying. And if I can't enter USB Connection in the future, well, atleast I have a memory card reader.

*edit* I also noticed one little thing. Everyone who I've seen with this error happen to have 3.40 OE-A, so I guess (and hope) that going up to 3.52 M33 would fix this, since the 3.40 OE-A USBHostFS might be arguing with the key 0x43? If this is it, it sure would be cool. Tell me what you think.

Re: Weird thingy in PSP main menu...

Wow, you know much about these things JaXeRiR yikes What's the name of that plugin that when you press home button it shows battery percentage? And, also if it is very annoying why not toggle USB in recovery mode instead?

Re: Weird thingy in PSP main menu...

I'm not sure if it would work either, because recovery mode uses the same plugins (usb.prx, usbstor.prx, usbstorboot.prx and usbstormgr.prx) as the normal USB Connection (I guess so, not sure) so it might make recovery mode get stuck.

As I said I'm not sure but I guess so. There are probably many games/apps that use their own plugins to connect to PC, so that won't be the problem.

Yeah, and the plugin I use is called 'Battery PRX v.0.021' it's good, but it if you toggle it on and enter Game - Memory Stick it might get stuck sometimes. Before that I used 'Battery InfO v1' but it didn't work at all, and even before that I used 'Battery 1NFO PRX', which was teh best but there were red tiles on the screen when starting some game and the gameboot showed.

You can get any of those here: http://dl.qj.net/index.php?pg=19&sr … ;go.y=0bef

Oh, and the 'Battery PRX v0.021' works also in UMD games and ISOs if you put it in game.txt but it tends to freeze your PSP when used in-game so I won't suggest that.
