Dawn of War for PSP!

I'm making a flash version of Dawn of War for the PSP, and you've probably already guessed that since it's flash and made by 1 person(who happens to be fairly new at flash programing) it's not gonna be exactly amazing. It's gonna be turn based because I don't know how to make good AI and I'm definatley not gonna try to make it online. So far there are two races, Eldar and Space Marines. I just took screenshots of some of the guys(not illegal because they are such bad quality after all the conversion smile, and I don't have any animations. I will put a download link when I have a good demo.

Re: Dawn of War for PSP!

If screenshots would be illegal, then I guess Falldown is illegal too...

*Thinking of LocoRoco, Crash Badicoot, Sonic The Hedgehog...*

Re: Dawn of War for PSP!

I'm not saying it's illegal to take screenshots, but if I sold it for money without telling relic and stuff, it might. Not that it ever would be good enough to sell.

Re: Dawn of War for PSP!

Yeah yeah I get it. I've never really thought about Dawn of War and I have no clue what it is. Any background information?

By reading the name I guess it is some kind of war game, but not the usual Call of Duty and Medal of Honor stereotype right?

Re: Dawn of War for PSP!

It's actually an rts and it's made off of Warhammer 40k. It has 4 races, Space Marines, Chaos, Eldar and Orks. It's pretty fun, and all the races are completely different(aside from gettring resorces the same way) unlike AOE noobishness. The graphics are pretty good, and theres cool stuff like heavy cover and squads instead of single units. Also theres a really cool army painter. If you want to find out more, download the demo or just go to their site. Theres also two expansions, Winter Assault and Dark Crusade.

You can get the demo at:

Age of Empires was my favorite game until I played this. I still like 1, 2 and Mythology. No offense,  but playing #3 just made me sick. Things like every unit having a gun yet some doing 1 shot kills and others taking off 1 hp made me hate it.

Re: Dawn of War for PSP!

I didn't know they made AoE 2 for PS2. AoE 2 is probably the best one, but I won't say anymore beacause we're getting off topic. Did anybody try the dow demo yet?

Re: Dawn of War for PSP!

Haven't tried yet, the file seems to be big. I'll look onto it when I have time.

Yeah about AoE 2 it's pretty odd because Microsoft has made AoEs and PS2 is a product of Sony and Sony and Microsoft are competitors. It's made by Konami, says the box so I guess they just turned it from the PC to PS2 (You can also use an USB mouse in the game, it's cool)

Re: Dawn of War for PSP!

AoE2 on PS2 sounds even wierder now. Cool that you can use USB mouse.

Right now I have Eldar and SM for PSP. I probably won't have more than that until the full release. I'll probably have a demo done within a week or two.

Re: Dawn of War for PSP!

Err... Why are you asking this on a topic related to Dawn of War flash game development?

Re: Dawn of War for PSP!

If you're asking me to make sonic adventue, then  no. Like I said, I'm new to flash programming.

I wanted to ask a question aboout my game.
Since it's going to be turn based, should I have it so:
1. Each turn you can move 1 guy and thats it.
2. Each turn you can do a certain number of moves, like 3.
3. Each turn you can move each guy once.

They're also liseted in order of easiest to do. I already have it working at #1, but I'll change it if you guys think it would make it more fun.
