New Flash application in development

I have started making a new flash application for the PSP.
Here is what it does:
Accesses the bookmark file on the PSP that is created in the web browser. Then the flash file scans through the links and finds the ones that are flash files (.swf) and then builds up a row of buttons that will take you to the flash file when they are clicked.

I am not sure how useful this is but I wanted a challenge. here is a beta version that works on my firmware 3.50 PSP. It does not use homebrew.

Known issues:
-It looks rubbish, this is a first release though.
-It will probably take ages to load if you have loads of bookmarks possibly give an error saying there is a script making flash run slowly.
-If you have a lot of links then the buttons will go off the screen (and you wont be able to see them).
-May not work with other firmwares I can not check.

If you want to give it a go download it here. This will give a blank screen on PC as it wont be able to load the bookmark file.

Re: New Flash application in development

It is probably tons of bookmarks but I would expect an error to pop up in the browser. I have tested it with 50 bookmarks and it takes a while around 22 seconds or so. (also had success with 80) it may be that the format of the bookmarks file has changed in firmware 3.51, I will do some investigating.

...

You made your own custom firmware?

...

Yeah right. And I'm an alien from outer space.

...

And the flash app doesn't work on 3.40 OE-A either... But you probably knew that already.

Re: New Flash application in development

I have updated the file now. If you get a message saying "Could not load bookmark file" then the file must be kept in a different location to mine. Mine is located in "PSP/SYSTEM/BROWSER/bookmarks.html"  and when opened in a text editor the version can be read from "<!--Ver.01-->" I am making assumptions as it is .01 the file has always been made this way perhaps it has not.

Works perfectly for me. Nice background. Its a great app. Maybe a manual flash portal that lets you add games big_smile.
