Re: Downgrade for firmware 3.50
I have to make a comment that downgrading your PSP may result in it not working at all it is a risk you take yourself and we accept no responsibility if things go wrong so make sure you know what you are doing before downgrading.

Yeah yeah blah blah blah... But seriously, there IS a chance you could brick your PSP, although it's almost as small as with the official upgrades.. Well not...
ALWAYS READ THE README (if you don't understand something, ask in forums or someone BEFORE DOWNGRADING!!!!)

Probably no, you have to unzip the files and all... Umm... Does any of your relatives have a PC? Or your friends? Or your neighbours? (lol) Or could you got to the public library and ask them nicely?

It's very little chance of bricking if you do everything right. And if this is the first time you downgrade, you should be extra careful when downgrading.

Re: Downgrade for firmware 3.50
In my personal opinion I think people should try homebrew before downgrading, I know this is not always possible but if you could play on a friends or something like that. I did try homebrew a while back and I was not that impressed after a week or two I found I was just playing my UMD games so I have never bothered since I think the only advantages are the PS1 games and possibly a couple of emulators.

Have you tried the homebrew game "No Gravity" it really looks like a commercial game. 3D graphics and stuff... And i have downloaded a couple of emulators now. Playing old "Super Smash Bros." and "Super Mario Bros." on my psp is cool...

Re: Downgrade for firmware 3.50
Well whatever you guys say, I'm still gonna downgrade after my Lumines comes on the post, but I'm gonna be VERY careful, my buddy bought this modchip and he installed it wrong and hes PSP was dead like a brick.
My mom and dad are gonna be sooooooooooo mad to me if I brick it... I have no warranty in it anymore, (cahnged the faceplate succefully at last). But at least with 3.03 downgrade, anyone hasn't posted anything that they would've bricked with it, but I'm gonna wait a while so I know if someone has bricked.

It is. You downgrade to 1.50, then upgrade to Dark Alex's Custom Firmwire 3.40 OE-A and you can run all homebrew, isos and psx games and it also includes a recovery menu if you have semi-bricked your psp or such...

Well you can't really get a semi-bricked PSP in any other way than changing the icons, boots or gameboots and stuff. Otherwise it's full-bricked where the recovery menu doesn't help at all.

The point of downgrading is that when you have these PSP firmwares, like 3.50, 2.60 and so, then in 1.00 firmware Sony didn't believe that people were able to make their own games and applications, but people soon got their hands on developer kits. Then Sony released an update, 1.50 which was not-able to play these home-made-games (from this on "homebrew") but there was soon found a bug in 1.50 that let it run homebrew by swapping the memory sticks while the PSP logo was on when starting the game. After that were released KXploit, which used, converted the 1.00 eboots to two folders, for example, PSPGame and PSPGame%. That way homebrew was runnable from 1.50. After that Sony made 2.00 where the bug was fixed, and you couldn't enjoy homebrew until the downgrader and HEN (Homebrew ENable) were released. Sony if currently just trying to make so good firmwares that wouldn't have any types of exploitss (bugs, which let you run something that alters the firmware, and so, voids your warranty) but hopefully Sony will never achieve this purpose.

No, emulator do not work with 3.03, because that is Sonys official firmware, but if you have downgraded to 1.50 then you can upgrade to a custom firmware made by a cool dude named Dark_Alex, heard of him, yes? He's custom firmwares can do anything that normals too, but also you can play homebrew, emulator games, and most of all, PS1 games.

And the funny thing is, I have never downgraded or used custom firmware, I just have figured some things out first
