Do you know if it's a homebrew player or an official one?

It is in the next firmware update so its official (only if it is true). A sony rep mentioned it when showing off the ps3.

Hmm. If it will be able to play videos, that means it will be ALOT faster and the virtual memory will be bigger. Will it worth uprgaidinl, loosing lots of TIFF homebrews?

I doubt they'll make the memory any bigger. I've read somewhere that they won't do that untill they make longer lasting batteries.

Re: A new flash player for PSP

I didn't say that... I've read (I'm not sure if it was official) that the PSP is not working at its best as of now. The processor is working at just 2/3 of it's full potential and memory could be increased "endlessly" depending on the capacity of your memory stick. If they would do this, the battery wouldn't last long at all.
But most likely this new flash player won't need more memory, so the battery shouldn't be an issue. Again, a lot of things you read about the PSP are rumours. So don't worry. Sony won't force you to buy a new battery anyway.

Re: A new flash player for PSP

As we have not seen a new flash player and the homebrew flash player is mentioned this topic is being closed.
