OFW 6.61

So, Sony just released v6.61 firmware for the PSP, more than three years after the last update. The changes? "Improved system stability."

We already have signed homebrew, why make a new OFW?

Re: OFW 6.61

I'm way out of the loop for PSP stuff, but from what I read over at wololo I thought that was a japan-only firmware update? Or was that brought over to other regions as well? I really CBA to check out the patch notes (probably the standard Sony "security update") but to take a guess there may have been a game released which relied on a feature that had some kind of bug? Pure speculation though. I don't really use my PSP anymore, I should look at dusting it off and getting some games I never had a chance to play - there were quite a few that I wanted way back when.

My signature? Tis a silly thing to read.

Re: OFW 6.61

Yeah, it was released in the US. I ultimately installed it in order to use the PSN again, since Media Go wasn't working on my laptop. Didn't seem to change anything but I heard it patched some game.
