Flash tap/hold control system

Hey, I have been developing a system so that you can determine weather the player has taped or held a button. To use it in your game all you have to do is copy a movie-clip into the time-line and it works, its as simple as that. you can then access the button states in much the same way you would check for a normal key press. Full details and download are on my (yes, this is a shameless plug tongue) blog http://www.dilan.ws/post.php?id=3 hope to see some interesting stuff from this smile

COOL!!! You finally did it, nice!

I don't really know how it can be used in a game as such, but I might figure something out... smile

Re: Flash tap/hold control system

One place it could come in handy is for menus, like tap to do the normal function and hold to bring up a menu. I'm sure there's plenty of other ways it could be used too, just be creative big_smile

Re: Flash tap/hold control system

I've tried to do something like that before, but I was never able to accomplish it. The menus in my games are always a bit glitch-y (Mastermind and PSP Kart). Would you mind sending me a sample of just the action-script? (I've only got Liveswif)
