It is separate battle-mode, like FF. I try to keep simple, so I could get the game finished. Chrono trigger's battle is very complicated, because you have to be aware of enemy's and player's location.

TNL81291, you know, those moments in Link's Awakening was exactly what I meant! big_smile - Now that you mentioned it, that is exactly where that inspiration came from. But, there probably won't be any swimming.

Scrolling is _very_ heavy - and removing it is not that big of a loss. Looking forward to see your stuff!

also, your "3D rendered" sprites on your first post look good enough to be Nintendo DS graphics xD

Development goes well. Battle system is now fully working, now I only need to make more complex A.I and graphics for enemies. After this I'll go back to worldmap to make battle-triggers work!

Screenshots from battle, with demo-enemy and backdrop.

Do you think that battle looks interesting enough at this stage of development? There is also "Search" and "Item" commands available. By searching, player can find AP-bonus, ammo or potions from the battleground.

EDIT: Can anyone tell me a reason why I cannot put any links in this message? It is annoying.
