So you are planning on releasing another beta today? - Could you please upload it to another server than that spam-something, cause it does not work in Japan where I live. I've tried on couple of machines...

I'm looking forward to it. I've been quite busy making another RPG myself. Name hints that you've had some inspiration from FFXIII, am I right?

Flash-scene doesn't have that many good RPG's any ways, so new ones are always good news. Only one I've ever considered worth anything is Murloc, which is awesome.

Alright, you got it released! I guess you would like to hear some opinions?

I see you've already created working walkabout engine, which seems to work very well! I like the quick-menu in the battle, but some visual feedback from the enemy would be nice. But basically game jumps very well between two engines and I can see lot of things that could be done with these two. What sort of other actions you are planning for battle?

I'm a graphic designer, so beta's art is the biggest issue for me. I personally would suggest using only pixel-based graphics and some well thought and developed sprites, instead of mixing bitmaps and vectors. I never bother to play more than couple of seconds if game has quickly done visuals, even if the gameplay was solid gold.

These assets are meant for prototyping, exactly for game betas when dev's are supposed to spend more time with gameplay than visuals. Graphics are free to use and are actually quite cool. Fits for RPG's.

Consistent palette is one of the keys to great ingame art. If you want to do all graphics by yourself, I suggest opening some screenshots of one similar title in photoshop and borrowing the palette from those screenshots. When you learn more about graphic designin, you will automatically start to create consistent palettes. Same goes for in-game GUI's. In professional game development, people always takes defining titles of the genre as base for GUI design. Mimic and make it better.

It is great to see someone else working on RPG's, I love that genre and I would love to see RPG that takes PSP flash to the max. I'm looking forward for this going alpha or gold and in the meantime, good luck with coding!

I found a glitch!
If you stay at the edge of a map, you glitch up and spasm onto other maps! Do you use hitTest boxes? If you do, try codes like (on the player):

if(_y>270) {
_root.nextFrame();
this._y = 20;
}

Anyway, nice game! Oooh! mystery man!
Mystery men are awesome!

Oh, and I wrote this with my PSP... took so long.

ok i havent had time to do changes to the beta, im currently working on the sprites and tilesets.
but today i went and looked at the beta and saw that theres a glitch, if your HP reaches 0 it just gets stuck there, you cant atk or go to the game over screen...
im currently looking on this glitch, idk how long it will take for another beta to be released, but i'll let you guys know Once its ready big_smile
