Re: Jetpackin'

Yeah, it looks nice.  It would look better if the obstacles some how were related to the background though.  I havn't tried it on the psp so the framerate might be a issue if you do that... you can always try and find out though.  The tilt looks smooth.  Something more tehnical related that might be a potential issue on the psp; the psp is a very... fragile machine when it comes to flash and it usually tends to not appreciate things that go too far of screen and it will have tantrums and have memory leaks and other crap.  So you might condsider adding limits to the bottom of the playing field (or even somewhat under it) so the character dosnt "fall" too far off screen (not your fault btw just something the psp can get touchy about).  Is this your first game you've done in flash or for psp... or both or neither?    Looks nice overall.

Edit: so many typos in my post :p!

Re: Jetpackin'

wow... that was critical but helpful. i will add boundaries coz yes they are needed. the framerate is slightly low on psp but it isnt too bad, it is my third proper game i have made.

Re: Jetpackin'

I did the tilt ^^

It is just a variable that is applied to _rotate

I know it didn't need a variable it was just cleaner to do it that way so that MA could understand what was happening.

only 3 lines per key function (7 lines in total).

Re: Jetpackin'

Sorry if it sounded a bit (or more) critical, it's not intentional, most of my posts look like that big_smile.  They were merely suggestions for performance since the game already runs pretty smooth.

I wasn't saying that the framerate was low, I was saying that adding different graphics as i had suggested for the obsatcles may make it run slower.

Nice, looks very good for the amount of experience you have.

Hope that was less critical lol.

BTW if you need help with anything programming wise, pm me.

^zuriki:  I think he mentioned that it was you in the top post.  Good Job.

Re: Jetpackin'

I just noticed something else.  If you're in a tight space (horizontal wise) and if close to something on your left and if you then tap >,  the fire will touch the wall resulting in a loss, even though the character has not touched the wall its self.  Nothing major, just something to think about if you feel like changing that.
