Can a psp...
... run a homebrew EBOOT without CFW? I don't want to get CFW, seriously, but if I can run EBOOTs without CFW that would be great.

Re: Can a psp...
No, since im pretty sure the EBOOT needs to be signchecked with Sony's digital signiture, otherwise the PSP will refuse to load the EBOOT.
Also, why refuse to get CFW? I dont see why youre against it.

Re: Can a psp...
Of course you can run EBOOTs in official firmware, FYI the official demos and updates are in EBOOT form.
But to run unofficial (read: GOOD) EBOOTs you need to get yourself to CFW. It's not hard, and you will not regret it.

Re: Can a psp...
Alright, i'll do it when I get my 2nd psp. It sounds cool. Just a couple of questions, when I remove the leg on the battery, what does that do?

Re: Can a psp...
It disables the EEPROM, which makes the PSP think the serial is 0xFFFFFFFFFF or something and makes it able to boot to service mode.
And if you are going to get another PSP, you will get a new battery with it right? So why not make that (or your old one) to a Pandora? You will still be able to use your PSP with a Pandora because there are various loaders that let you get to XMB from service mode.

Re: Can a psp...
Your getting a slim i take it? If so, no need to cut the leg of the chip...
The slim has 2 points on the battery, where if you connect them with a wire, bypasses (I think, not tech educated) the EEPROM, which is the same as cutting the leg. The advantage about this is that it is easier on you. Trust me, I tried cutting the leg of the chip once, and it wasnt that easy. I prefer to just tape on a wire.
