Super Smash PSP Bros [Released]

I finished it, I made this new thread because the other one was filled with "Sweet can't wait" posts, which confuses people and makes them think it's unfinished.

Well, It is.

Also, I released it to early with a bug so that one button didn't work past Lazerio, I fixed that.

Also, it's 755kb, but I forgot to compress it, so If I did, it would be 320kb.

http://www.resiststorage.org/images/ssb1555.swf

Enjoy, you can play this on your PSP, and it doesn't lag. (A little bit at the cloud stage, but not bad....)

Read the instructions, and it has been reported that the blast goes randomly places, but it comes back eventually.

Also, some people think that Lazerio is stronger than Master Foot, well.... He is faster, and more clever, but there is a way to beat him fast and harmlessly, I'll leave that up to you to decide.

Once again, I finished it. It's short, but it's simple, like any PSP Flash Game should be, and it's fun to pop out and play if you want to jump, and blast away.

Well, Go Start Smashing!!!

Re: Super Smash PSP Bros [Released]

I agree with zuriki, but some things don't seem right for this being a "release"
1. on the lazer kingdom level if you touch the wall 75% of the time the char got stuck and the enemy raped me.
2. Master Foot was ridiculous... All you have to do is hold attack then jump and he would follow attack... when you came back down he would STAY below the level so I didn't lose ANY health...

It wasn't really fun on PSP or a computer.

All in all it would be nice to see some thigns fixed or improved upon.

sad No positives though.

I can fix the lazer kingdom glitch, and Master Foot was out of place, I have to lift the sprite to be on you. Thanks though, at least you didn't say "IT SUCKS BIG BALLS" like some other member(s) have.

If you are intrested in experimenting with it in LiveSwif, I'll upload the source on Thursday.

Also, Could you please, please send me the source for that bmx game, or show me how to make something move up a diagonal object, like not on y axis, up a hill, and down, etc.

Re: Super Smash PSP Bros [Released]

What Math class(es) do you take?  If you've taken trigonometry or geometry(you'll understand this), I mostly use tangents when moving on diagnals so I can find the angle. When I get back from school today I'll make a little tutorial for moving on diagnols. (<-- I cant spell in the morning lol).

Hmm, I'm in Grade 9, lol.

I liked Zuriki's escape AI, on how the enemy rotated.

A sequel? Maybe, if other people start showing some respect.

Thanks for supporting every single one of my projects, I will be sure to please you however I can.

Re: Super Smash PSP Bros [Released]

It's not a matter of respect. The game has fundamental flaws if you can't except that the game isn't a mess then that is your fault.

I like the game but the flaws let it down.

Nobody is disrespecting you.

Re: Super Smash PSP Bros [Released]

I know it's a bit of a mess. It just sickens me that you hadn't shown a single bit of respect towards me finishing it, nor apr. the positives of the game.

Re: Super Smash PSP Bros [Released]

Positives:
+ It works

Negatives:
- It's very buggy
- It's not very SSB style

I will point out that the first one consists of at least 3 negatives.

I'm sorry the negatives way out the positives it needs serious reworking.

Re: Super Smash PSP Bros [Released]

jfig I think you're taking this way too far...
nobody is insulting you so don't get personal...
If I recall, Zuriki has a game on this site that isn't full of bugs, and it seems complete...
There is no lack of respect being shown besides you insulting someone else.
You havn't finished it, beacuse there are still gamepley flaws that make the game not very fun to play.
It's not the reviewers fault that your game has alot of bugs, it's also nobody elses fault that you have to use a low end software to make your games.
If you want to be a successfull developer take the negatives and fix your game so that there will be more positives. Imagine this...

Imagine someone has paid you to make a house.
You make it out of twigs and stones because you live in a forest(lol).
The person won't be happy and won't have many positives.
So instead if you put in more effort and build it with logs which you had previously attained your twigs from.
The person now thinks you're an artist or genious or whatever.

You can't expect everyone to be happy with something incomplete or not up to par.
So if you build upon the coding you have even if you're using a crappy program you can acheive more. If you do this people will be happy with your game and will review it positively.
But really, calm down...

Moving diagonally just needs the symbol to change both the x and y co-ordinates. (y vertical movement, x horizontal). If you move +2 x and +2 y then the symbol will move diagonally up and right. The trigonometry stuff is just to take an angle of movement and convert it to the correct number of x and y units to move the symbol in that direction. It works because diagonal movement is essentially all triangles - a horizontal and vertical edge that make up a diagonal movement.

There's a basic page on triangle maths here (i don't know how old grade 9 is, but this is GCSE level in the UK, so aimed at 15/16yr olds)
