Add Super Smash PSP?

It'd get this site alow of views I think, as it sounds crazy fun.

Also, I think it could get more people joining and start a new light for PSP FG, with a ton of new adventure flash games coming out.

The SWF: http://resiststorage.org/images/ssb1555.swf

It's complete, and it gives even a better reason for guests to join!

Please add it Tadphil, smile

I think Tallphil and Jake are busy, but when they visit this site I'm sure they will visit this topic.

Re: Add Super Smash PSP?

It is true we are very busy at the moment.

With regards to adding the game on the main site I test all of the games before they go up. I start the tests by running the game on a computer, if it passes I put it on a PSP and a PSP Slim and test on those, if it passes these tests then it goes on the site.

Unfortunately I will not be putting this game on in its current release for the following reasons:
- Characters get attached to the scenery (this is due to the collision detection with platforms and not checking if the character is actually on top of the scenery).
- Enemy's have the ability to fly (they do not conform to restrictions in the level).
- The game gas bugs (moovlin level if you don't move at all then he wont attack you so you can beat him easily).

There are more but those are the main ones.

I do not want to discourage jfig111 from making the games however this does not seem like a release to me but more of a beta which needs a little more work before it can be released.

So my answer is no it is not going on the site yet however if some more work is done on the game and it passes the PSP test then it could go up in the future.

Re: Add Super Smash PSP?

What's wrong with spotting bugs that affect gameplay?

It's nice to see someone backed up my opinion, because I think jfig could do good but I think he gets too excited and releases stuff before he's really finished.
Don't be discouraged jfig just release your games on your own schedule and don't worry about releasing a ton of games at once.

Alot of those problems have to do with my platform codes I guess then, and at this moment, the platform code I have is the only one working.

1. Attached to the Scenery, as in going through the platforms. A collision detection glitch that I can not solve myself in LiveSwif.

2. Moovlin and Patapon are supposed to fly, look how Cloudboy and Lazerio jump occasionally to get you.

3. I can move the Moovlin sprite over a bit, no problem.

It isn't a beta release because alot of it is finished. A beta, is something that isn't finished at all, the core is not completed. However, this is just the first version. Versions are used to update little core bugs, ex. most online games have patches, etc...

About this "PSP" test, Block Commander will freeze at random times, and run out of memory on PSP when downloaded onto the PSP, and Jelly Christmas has assorted pixels flying everywhere as well. I don't know about you, but I do certainly see little and big bugs in some of the games on the site.

I don't see why you couldn't put it on this site, it has been on much bigger sites like pspupdates.qj.net, http://avio-design.net, http://boardsus.playstation.com, and my (awesome) friend Dezerith's site at http://dezerith.co.nr

Re: Add Super Smash PSP?

Block Commander was designed for Download on PSP Fat (but works Web-Side on PSP Slim).

I have never seen assorted pixels flying around on jelly christmas... is it snow or confette or maybe just your screen...

Re: Add Super Smash PSP?

Well, no offense but those aren't "big sites".  This site is dedicated to PSP flash games, and if the admin dosn't want to put it on till you fix it don't complain.

Which game(s) have these big bugs that affect the gameplay has much as yours?
Do they make the game(s) less enjoyable?

And games freezing aren't always bugs, alot of the time (and the way you're explaining it) it's memory problems of the particular system.

Re: Add Super Smash PSP?

Precisely. By the way the assortment of pixels isn't the games fault thats just the PSP's Flash player rendering the shaders incorrectly.

Re: Add Super Smash PSP?

@ Corvette: Heli dies when you don't even hit anything, alot of bugs in all sorts of games.

@ Zuriki: If it's the PSP's fault, it still doesn't pass the "PSP" test of Jake's. We're a community that's built on designing games for PSP. So, make them work the same on PSP and PC, for the exception of small lag.

Re: Add Super Smash PSP?

It is an unavoidable bug that doesn't fundamentally flaw the gameplay. If that was the case then we'd have no games on here at all and who are you to say what passes Jake's test or not?

Heli doesn't die when you don't hit anything. My you are seeing things.

You obviously can't take any form of criticism, if you are going to act like this when somebody points out a flaw then you should stop making games or grow up. When I was making boulder dash there some flaws in it and so I set about putting them right, except the scoreboards thing which I can't correct for the life of me.

Thank you for explaining it out.

Yes, Alot of people here haven't finished games.

You don't seem to appreciate anything I do, and minimize it down in every post you make Zuriki.

I do take a hell lot of criticism, and make my games better, and add things on. If I didn't, I'd be like you and start quitting every game I started because people don't like it.
