JustFonts 3.80 with custom XMB wave?

Hey, I just got JustFonts for 3.80 M33, and it works great. However, I'd love it if i could change the XMB waves that the theme comes with, because I dont like how it goes with my background..Its too linear compared to my other one. Is it possible, or would I have to live with the current one?

It is possible. You just need to replace flash0:/vsh/resource/system_plugin_bg.rco with the new one. If you would like to use the original one, use your backup wink. You backed up all the flash0 contents, right?

Re: JustFonts 3.80 with custom XMB wave?

Err...maybe i wasnt being specific enough. Its actually a .ctf file that im using with CXMB 3.1. I was asking this because I dont see any way to do so with this type of file. Communication error on my part tongue

Also, regarding the flash0, i only see 4 folders in there, but ive read that there are more. Can i do anything to see these hidden folders?

Yes, you need to enable "Show hidden files&folders" in Windows.

And because you are using CXMB, download the CTF unpacker and replace the system_plugin_bg.rco, then recompile the CTF and you're ready.

Wow, thanks a million Jax. Ima try this right now, and see if it works. I'll let you know how it goes.

Ok, ive hit a roadblock. Ive gotten everything unpacked, and ive copied over my XMB wave. The problem is, I dont have any idea on how to recompile it. Someone should make a How to guide for this stuff..

Re: JustFonts 3.80 with custom XMB wave?

Oh yeah, sorry! Completely my fault, I didn't think about the re-compilation part last night.

What you need to do is to get 3 files from 3.90 firmware. You need to download the 3.90 updater from here: http://alek.dark-alex.org/filez/psp_fw/ and then use  RSPSARDumper to get the three files, named common_gui.prx, vshmain.prx and paf.prx. Then you need to place those three files decrypted in ms0:/CXMB/SUPPORT/ and place the dumped CTF files to ms0:/cxmb/, and in their own folders. Now just do a complete restart on your PSP, and you will have a "default.ctf" file placed in ms0:/PSP/THEME/.

EDIT: whatever, I just noticed how messy that 'guide' is. I uploaded the SUPPORT folder for you, place it in ms0:/CXMB/ and the dumped CTF files there as well, but with the custom system_plugin_bg.rco and then restart your PSP.

Click here to download the SUPPORT folder.

Re: JustFonts 3.80 with custom XMB wave?

Lol, no worries. I'll try later today, as i just woke up and im too tired to try anything.

Im sorry to be a pain, but it just wont work. Does the fact that i have CXMB 3.1 lite have anything to do with this? Im putting the SUPPORT folder in ms0:/cxmb, as well as the dumped .ctf files, which are in one folder. Am I misplacing/misnaming the folders?

Re: JustFonts 3.80 with custom XMB wave?

Yep, that's the problem. With the Lite version you can only use CTF files but with the Full version you can also create them. Get  the Full one from here.

And the CTF files must be in the correct folders, like ms0:/CXMB/vsh/resource/ and ms0:/CXMB/vsh/module/. If you need any help with the correct folders just ask.

I am so mad right now. It refuses to do anything. I have everything in the correct places, and still nothing is coming up in PSP/THEME/. I'll send you what my MS looks like..

Re: JustFonts 3.80 with custom XMB wave?

Have you deleted the default.ctf from PSP/THEME/? And are you sure that you have the files in the correct folders in ms0:/CXMB/?

Re: JustFonts 3.80 with custom XMB wave?

First off, does the theme folder have to be empty of ALL files?
Second, im pretty sure everything is in the right order.
Heres everything, and how its setup
ms0:/CXMB/cxmb.prx, conf.txt, support folder, vsh folder, and font folder.
In support i have:common_gui.prx, paf.prx, and vshmain.prx.
In vsh and font are the extracted . ctf files.

Anything wrong here? and just for the record, thanks for NOT abandoning me tongue
EDIT: I used Red Squirrel's CTF manager, and i DID successfully recompile the .ctf.However, I did NOT get it working on the PSP. Im starting to think that its my firmware version, since the CTF manager has 2 options: 3.71 and 3.90, no 3.80.  I think that may be the problem..

No, you can have PTF files in the THEME folder.

So you are dead sure you have the FULL version of CXMB? If you still can't get it working, upload the CTF and/or the extracted files somewhere and I'll see what I can do.

Btw, I know this is a really stupid question, but of course you have the plugin enabled in Recovery and the line 'ms0:/CXMB/CXMB.prx' in vsh.txt?
