My game idea

UPDATE: since I'm too thick to learn AS I've decided that it's best to let other people do that... I'll be making the story, designing the characters and how the game looks. that is, if this happens. so now what i need is a team. anyone interested PLEASE say.


It would be a quest based rpg (various people tell you to slay x monsters or defeat some boss guy, then you defeat them, take their stuff, and kill bigger monsters and eviler bosses) If anyone decides to make this I will work on making character designs and maps and the story.

the controls would be arrows to move, (x) to interact with whatever you are facing (open a chest, attack a monster, talk to a wise old person) and the analog stick would be used to navigate menus where you can change your equipment or save. In a game like this some kind of save would be absolutely essential.

Lastly, the attack system would just be, you press (x) and attack, the monster attacks back. then you press (x) again. and so on. that could probably be improved, but i don't think it should go into a seperate battle screen because that would be hard (I think)

Since this game would be very big, it should probably be put into segments like this, to minimalise the size of each adventure.

PART 1: you play ******* a warrior in the village of *********. One day you are told to go out and hunt a boar for the village's upcoming feast. You go out, and a tutorial begins to show you the interface and controls and things. After you kill the boar it is late so you go to sleep. The next morning you wake up and head back to your village. When you reach it you find all of the building burning and all the people dead. There are the footprints of an army leading out of the town. END OF PART ONE


PART TWO: You follow the the footprints to the capital city of *******. There you are chased by guards, and when they corner you you are forced to fight them, but instead of just attacking with your sword like normal, when the player presses (x) you shoot a pillar of fire. It switches to a cutscene where a rebel group known as The Liberators rescue you. They ask if you want to join them, and you accept.

Alternatively, both of these parts could be condenced into one big movie. if you want to be lazy.

PART THREE: This is where the game really begins. You begin doing various missions for The Liberators. How a mission works is you would talk to this guy, who would say something like, "oh, hey, I have a mission for you, follow me." Then the screen would just fade out and fade back in wherever the mission would take place, i.e a castle or the streets or whatever. Missions would mostly be assasination type things, because the psp can't handle much more than two character in the screen at a time sad

PART FOUR: After being the Liberators dirty job man for a while, but not getting anywhere you begin to get impatient with the Liberators. Then you are sent out to assasinate Sir Damian Elroy, one of the kings top men. You get into his room, but he sees you and recognises you. He sees you killing one of his guards with the fiery attack you seem to sometimes mysteriously use, and he recognises you. Before you kill him he explains that you are the son of the kingdom's Fire Magus (woot cliche) and that that is why your village was destroyed. to find you. So you kill him.

PART FIVE: You are angry at the Liberators for not telling you this, but more angry at the kingdom for burning your village. If possible, the game would become more free roam at this point, with you being pretty free to wanter throughout the village killing all the people you're mad at. eventually you find the leader of the Liberators on a mission and kill him.

PART SIX: (last part) Now that the Liberators have been thrown into chaos there's only one person left to kill: the king. for this part of the game it would be all about stealth. You would have to sneak through the castle to get to him. Once you get to him you just attack once then he dies. woooo. um. I'm not sure what should happen now. Welllll...

tell me how you think, and what you think could be improved. (especially a good ending...lol....)

Wow that seems like a big project, i think the real problem is the psps capcity  at running flash.

But i guess its  Possible, but harder than a normal RPG

yeah thats what I was thinking, it would be cool as a big group project, maybe make a portal for it that would contain extra levels and maps and things, and more downloadable content. the problem is definately the psp. anyone want to try it? someone who's really good with flash...

actually compared to the fat the slim has twice the capacity. Because the internal memory of the slim was doubled to 64 mb (fat has 32 mb) making the website capacity increase.

No. FYI The website capacity doesn't just increase by itself when the hardware goes on. The web browser software on the PSP defines the amount of RAM available for websites to use. If all the available RAM was used for the websites, then the system would crash all the time.

And actually, the Slim has 64MB of memory and Slim has 128MB of memory wink

32MB of NAND memory

Slim:
64MB of NAND memory
64MB of RAM memory

So that means if the game is made then it would be the first psp flash game with requirements to work.

that sounds funny.

yotonah you could maybe start looking into some action script.

A big project like this gives you the best oportunity to learn a scripting language.

Btw what language does flash accept?
because im learning c++ for homebrews, and i was wondering if that would work too for flash.

-flash uses actionscript (it's its own language), which is similiar to Java which is similiar to c++.

-...adobe makes flash for "gasp" mac also. lol

uhh...you have like four options...only one of them is legal and one other isn't very legitimate.

-(the legal one) but it from adobe.com like $700(i think) or find somesite with an older version and buy it there.

-(not so legal) get it from a friend...err a friend who has uninstalled it from their computer...

-(def not legal) downloada trial or hacked version and get a serial code..(not recomended...) if you do it this way don't tell us cause it's illegal and you'll get banned probally lol.

-use liveswif...which sucks but its free...its what "moovlin" was made with, so you can see how powerful it (isn't).
