Y is it wenever i play xbox live british n american never get along? they always call us fat n tell us to go eat a cheeseburger. and in retaliation i say spit spot cherio lads lets go get aspot of tea and crumpets. or bloody hell sharon. do british even like tea n crumpets?

I drink tea a lot. Crumpets are too much faff to eat on a regular basis.

one time i was on halo 3 online multiplayer

and this german who was speaking english told this american to F-off for no particular reason and most off us told them both to shut the hell up and get on with life but the germankid was saying to me britain and american are losers

but we said wtf you talking about
are country and usa kicked your german arses twice in the wars. And he loged out without saying Quick

To e honest, we didn't really win world war 2, Germany just lost (If you get what I mean). And what about the Russians? they probably fought better than we did, why do they always get forgotten?

Britain does have quite a rich culture. I suppose even England has a rich culture (considering it probably has the weakest). It's probably because British culture has become mainstream and "Americanised" that you don't realise it.

Our coulture has been lost because almost ever other culture has come to Britain. I am leaving as soon as I have finished my education and I am stable (money wise).

Zuruki, you're talking about English culture. Go to all of the other constituent countries and you'll see how strong their culture is.

I disagree - yeah, the UK is fairly multicultural, but we still have plenty of our own. Kind of depends what you mean by "culture" too - if it means fashion and art then I think we have plenty. If it means history, then we have more than most. If it means traditions and community then we have that too.

I think it's easy to pass off the UK as having no community when we're from the UK and used to its quirks, plus we've spread our culture world over with the empire so it can seem diluted. After all, American culture is kind of indirectly English culture

Its often an inbreed think to pull away from the original roots for American, Austrialians etc, like theres been a certain twitchyness between Scots, the Irish and Welsh towards the British..
Like the American we Brits have a nasty habit of sticking our noses in where it really doesn't belong, lets face it we've done it since the dawn of time.. theres not a lot of countries that don't have an axe to grind in some shape or form

But the British culture is definitely taking a turn for the worst.. we are no longer allowed to to British and proud of it just incase we upset a minority of people who throw in the rasist card at every possible oppertunity, but are allowed to do whatever they please..

To some degree yeah - i think the empire was responsible for a fair bit of good as well as the obvious injustices though. (Like trade)

There's still a fair bit of British Nationalism floating around though - we haven't got the Euro and we still get overexcited when we win the rugby (and mopey when we loose, *mope*)

Yes sport brings the country together.. its a shame it also drags the idiots out of the woodwork too :s

I think one of the reason for the decline is the loose of big industries, there's not social interaction anymore.. 20-30 years ago you relied on your collegues a lot more resulting in a bond. fathers and sons often worked together, and workers met socially
I live in the north east and now our biggest employer is Orange and supermarkets FFS, a far cry from the trains, bridges etc we used to build

wow this topic is starting to get really in depth. we are covering a lot of basic issues. the biggest problem is that everyone knows english. we need a new language that only people with the same beliefs and perceptions can speak. so basically if u believe u need to blow urself up b/c u percieve that it will please ur god. u cant speak that language.
