psp slim 3.90 downgrade?
well I'm new here and I'm looking at: http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-hardwa … ethod.html and I'm wondering
1) if this will work on my psp slim 3.90, and
2) could i use that premade pandora's battery thing with this, because I'm afraid of opening my battery. also where can i get them. I'm in the UK.
is there anything else I need to know before I downgrade? anything?
thanks.

Re: psp slim 3.90 downgrade?
First, yes, Pandora will work on any type of psp,no matter the firmware version.
Secondly,I wouldnt recommend hardmodding the battery..I broke a perfectly good 50 dollar one by damaging the cell pack,so I would definately buy a pre-made one.As for where you can get it, http://www.divineo.co.uk/cgi-bin/div-uk/psp-tools should be good.As for anything else you should know, you need to use a magic memory stick with the battery, otherwise it will not work. Normally you'd need a homebrew-capable psp to make it, but enough Googling should get you the answer
EDIT: I dont know how reliable this one is, but it seems too good to be true.Im thinking of getting one myself: http://www.divineo.co.uk/cgi-bin/div-uk/psp-smt

ok. I think I will get the datel battery. thanks. but what about the magic memory stick? is there any way of doing it on a mac? or if there isn't, whats the best way in general? the guide i posted previously does have a method, but it seems confusing...

No, you can't do it on a mac you'll have to use windows xp... vista won't work.

Re: psp slim 3.90 downgrade?
Nope, you can also use a Mac to do it! Just use this guide: http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-pandora-disc … 24530.html
With that guide, you do everything on a PSP... But it has to be downgraded...
Or you could try to find someone with XP.

Re: psp slim 3.90 downgrade?
dude I don't think this is going to work on a PSP slim. You need to have a PSP fat with custom firmware to get it on a slim.
But that guide works on a PSP fat; I used it to get custom firmware on my fat

You can use a Slim to create a Pandora's Battery from both the Fat battery and the Slim battery.
And you can also use Hellcat's tool to create the Magic Memory Stick on a Slim and a Fat.

Re: psp slim 3.90 downgrade?
It's a windows batch file that it uses to write some sector stuff (i don't know what i'm talking about) onto the memorystick so it will become bootable...

Re: psp slim 3.90 downgrade?
Okay, here's what yotonah:
I found this.
It is used to change the MS boot partition to 489 and on. On the main page it says that it works with Macs also, but you need some knowledge to do what the file tells you to do.
If you get the MS boot partition to 489, get this.
Take the files and put the on your memory stick. After that you only need the Pandora's Battery and you will be good to go!

Re: psp slim 3.90 downgrade?
I used the TOTALNewbiEasyInstaller first, when trying to downgrade my Slim, but it didn't work at all!
Then I used Moose_Islands guide, and guess what, part of the guide was already updated to TimeMachine and DCv4, and part of the guide still used DCv3, so I was pretty confused... But I got it sorted out with help from CHW42 from QJ Forums!
