Real FPS in flash
Well ok, its not for the psp flash. Although it would work, it would be unplayable do to the horrible framerate as it is.
For some reason I get about 20 frames a sec offline but online I get about 15. Oh well, I am working at it.
I know there are some glitches like disappearing walls and trees but nothing is perfect this stuff isnt exactly easy. Ive been working at experimental and theoretical scripts on this for a few months so Im proud to present a demo!

I am looking for story ideas... and weapon ideas... and well.... gameplay ideas too...
(ideas in general)

Re: Real FPS in flash
Looks neat. It's not meant for PSP but is it possible though?

Re: Real FPS in flash
Well, I tried it on psp and got less than one frame per second. That is unacceptable. There are way too many movie clips in the room, each with 100 lines of code going off at the same time with an EnterFrame event. More than one of these enterframes start to lag flash games in psp drasticly. Also, there are too many values being rewritten every step in every script. I think there are also too many calculations going on at the same time too. Maybe one day it can be possible when I grow more experienced with script and script optimization.

Re: Real FPS in flash
I'm sorta doing a FPS in flash but not with raycasting. I'm using the _x/y scale function so hopefully it should be fine on my psp. It's nowhere near as good as yours but it looks and -with a bit of tampering- probably will feel like an alright FPS; hopefully one that is psp friendly.

Re: Real FPS in flash
my friend has DOOM 1 on his iPOD nano (using fake ray-tracing), so i think that a psp SHOULD be able to play it, the ipod nano runs it at 15-25 fps, so thats easily playable... It might work in a non flash homebrew...

Re: Real FPS in flash
PSP has a homebrew DOOM game witch runs perfectly clear.
The reason why this game runs slow is that it's played through the browser, witch has low virtual memory.

Re: Real FPS in flash
Heh, you can really get the real Doom and Doom 2 if you get homebrew and run it at full speed.

Re: Real FPS in flash
www.psp-hacks.com had a homebrew doom, or you can get the GBA version if you get the gpSP.

Um hum. I am aware of that much. I just use psp-hacks.com as those where the first people I used for my homebrews.
