Re: To Do List
have changed the wallpapers page.
I'm afraid that I doubt the BBCode (which is what I presume you mean by BBS code?) won't work - you'll have to use html in your reviews.
Don't worry too much though - i'll format the page for you so that it's really easy - there will be a seperate box for each field so that the majority of the page formats for you, and the only code you'll really need to do is format paragraphs in <p>text here</p> and use <b>bold tags</b> and <i>italic tags</i> etc. All pretty similar to BBCode really. I'll give you a brief tutorial in writing the basics of html that I've written if you're worried.

Re: To Do List
Have just done a quick update to the highscores page - should look a little better and work a little more slickly now
If someone could test it on a PSP that would be cool, am at work so had to guess layout...

Re: To Do List
Lemmeh have a look. It's OK I guess... What do I have to look for in particular?
What did you change anyway? I never visited the highscores page so I wouldn't know

Re: To Do List
Just looks prettier - i'd written the background code for it but hadn't really tidied the page up at all. New things include making the usernames links when looking at highscores for a game, to look at that persons global highscores for all games, and putting the highscore rank in when looking at personal highscores.
Not much really, just had 10 minutes to waste at work...

Re: To Do List
Ok cool, I've just finished writing the code for creating new reviews and I think it all works
Now I just need to write the code to display the reviews, and the code to let you guys edit or delete your reviews..
Once the whole lot is done, i'll open up access so forum moderators can use it.

Re: To Do List
Thakns, good luck finishing!
Suggestion:
Next thing is making the same thing with wallpaperd (add subfolders, like : "Movie", "Game","Fantasy","Abstract" e.t.c and give us ability to modify'em )

Re: To Do List
I've just written the code to display the reviews - you can see the one I've been playing around with here (just copied from the forum).
This is still a little rough around the edges (especially in internet explorer) - still, let me know what you think?

Re: To Do List
That's nice, I like it a lot I didn't feel very happy with the layout, which is why I asked for ideas - thanks!
Do you think that the PSP version should have the same layout? Width of images is an issue with that...
Anyway, I'll sort it out soon, but I need sleep now

Re: To Do List
Oh right... The PSP version...
Thumbmails for all the images. I suppose ("click to enlarge" kind of thing)
Or the screenshots under the whole table. PSPs don't like too many and too big images on one page, so I'd go for the thumbmails.

Getting there... http://www.pspflashgaming.com/2-games/2 … eviewid=32
(not tested in firefox, and still a few bugs to fix, eg the page is being stretched too wide for some reason, and the images don't work as well as they will do)

Re: To Do List
Coooool.
Things to improve: Is it possible to see the screenshot/boxart fullsize in a new window with a mouse click? And do something with this:
You understand what i mean.
And change your nick to Jeffy's, u're not the author

Re: To Do List
I will improve the images section soon - i'll write some clever PHP that will automatically create new images from the images that you upload that are thumbnail size, to reduce download times, then link it up so that when you click the thumb you get the original full size image that you guys have uploaded... (But this all takes time... )
Not totally sure what you mean about the image - I wanted the box to stretch to full size if it is below the side bar, it looked weird with a big space with nothing in it. However, if you mean the fact that it is stretching beyond the edge of the page then yeah, i'm looking into that
I'll delete that review once i've finished writing all of this, then Jeffy can put it back in himself.. I just wanted some content to play around with...

Phil, do you actually do any work or are you getting paid for sitting on your ass all day?

Re: To Do List
Ok, have just got home and had a look at the page in firefox and it looks horrible - completely broken, so felt I should apologise for that...
Struggling to find time to do stuff like eating and sleeping lately, so you'll have to just trust me that I will try and get it done as soon as possible
And to be fair, I am actually really busy at work at the moment, it's just every spare 2 minutes and above I have, I spend coding

Re: To Do List
Have had a couple of hours free just now, and have written most of the edit page for the reviews - you can see it here (mods and admin only).
You might also notice that if you're a mod, you can only edit and delete your own reviews
The files / images bit (ie. the tricky coding bit) doesn't work yet, and i haven't really tested the rest much yet, so it might well be a bit fragile..

Could you make it possible to use the PSP's arrow keys in the header? The buttons are tiny

Re: To Do List
Theoreticaly, yes, it is. In fact, i'm using the code in the RPG's menu (Only because i don't post in the topic it doesn't mean that the project is frozen)
But you'd have to click in the menu before u'll be able to use arrow keys.
I think Phil will think of the script it himself
