GUN: Showdown (2006)

Gun: Showdown is a good port, but it's weak as a standalone game

Developer: Rebellion, Neversoft
Publisher: Activision
Release Date: 10 Oct 2006

Introduction

Showdown is a remake of the original Gun released early 2006. This is a GTA-style freeroaming game with interesting and intertaining gameplay, but a bit short and has little replay value.

Gameplay

In Gun you take controll over Colton White, who's father gets killed after explaining you the controlls by bandits, and who's goal is to find those thugs and avenge his dad. From that poin and till gameover, the game is all about shooting and horseriding. The game's world feels big at first, but there's allmost nothing to doo there. You have some sidemissions that boost you stats, there are 40 gold pieces scathered around the world, but nothing more.

Sound

There's no music at all. The only tunes you'll hear are the mission failing and winning melodies played on a harmonica. Gunshot sounds are great though

Control

Due to the lack of second analogue stick, the aiming is accomplished by x, circle, square and triangle buttons. That leaves the arrow keys for weapon switching, interacting with enviroment, and calling your hourse.
